Mulesing is the removal of some layers of skin around the anus of a sheep to prevent growth of wool. This keeps the rump of the sheep cleaner, with a reduction in fly-strike. Mulesing shears have rounded tips and angled (bent up) handles. Special mulesing sharpen creates an acute knife-like edge, instead of obtuse cutting edge. The blades of these sheep shears are marked ‘T.U.S.’ (Trade Union Shears) and are slightly broader than shear patterns used in other regions of the world. Easy grip handle finish.
