The Fido range features a glass swing lid that locks down onto a rubber seal via a wire bail closure, creating an airtight seal. These jars are ideal for dry goods, dehydrated foods, fermented foods, oils, and pantry storage. The Quattro Stagioni range uses a one-piece reusable metal lid and is designed for traditional preserving – including jams, pickles, chutneys, and pressure canning meat and fish. Quattro Stagioni jars also have straight sides making them suitable for freezer use (with adequate headspace).

No. Bormioli Rocco Fido jars are not suitable for water bath canning or pressure canning. They are designed for dry goods storage, dehydrated foods, oils, fermented foods, and cold storage. For water bath or pressure canning, we recommend using the Bormioli Rocco Quattro Stagioni range, which is designed for that purpose.

The Fido swing top preserving jars are available in the following sizes: 125ml, 200ml, 750ml, 1 litre, 1.5 litre, 2 litre, and 3 litres. A 3 litre Fido Fermenting Jar with a BPA-free fermenting lid is also available for home fermentation.

The Quattro Stagioni range at Ozfarmer includes 150ml, 200ml, 300ml Anfora, and 320ml jars. Replacement lids are available in 56mm, 70mm, and 86mm to suit the different jar sizes in this range.

Yes. The 3 litre Bormioli Rocco Fido Fermenting Jar comes with a specialised BPA-free fermenting lid designed to allow gases to escape during the fermentation process. It is suitable for making sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, kombucha, and other lacto-fermented foods. Standard Fido jars without the fermenting lid are also used by home fermenters but are best suited to short-term ferments where the jar can be burped regularly.
